Comic-Con-themed music events around town on Thursday include Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions at Embarcadero Marina Park South, with orchestral arrangements performed to visuals drawn from video games. The House of Blues will host its annual musical set from Super Show! stars the Aquabats.

Live music is promised for the Geeks Go Glam party on the patio at the San Diego Public Library, hosted by the Nerdy Girlie and Being Geek Chic; w00tstock returns to the Balboa Theatre, this year featuring musical comedy duo Paul and Storm, along with kid Trekker Wil Wheaton.

Thursday night DJ events include Boom Studios’ ten-year anniversary party at the Hilton Bayfront Hotel’s Odysea Lounge, the Great Royal Marshmallow at Somewhere Loud (a Wizard of Oz-themed costume ball with DJ HeavyGrinder), and the longhaired guy from Workaholics, Blake Anderson, spins a DJ set at Bang Bang on Market Street.

On Friday, Marian Call brings her Space Time show to 98 Bottles for a sci-fi-themed sing-along with Molly Lewis. The Cosplay Circus at Queen Bee’s features live music from the Velveteen Band, Lolita Dark, and Adam West the Bat, while Bo Burnham does his musical comedy thing at the Balboa Theatre

A musical adaptation of underground cartoonist Trina Robbins’s comic Eternally Bad: Goddesses with Attitude, debuts at the Moxie Theatre on El Cajon Boulevard and runs through August 2. DJ events include the Heroes vs. Villains Comic-Con After-Party at Rich’s in Hillcrest, and a Venture Brothers Mixer at the Hilton’s Odysea Lounge.

Saturday features the San Diego Symphony performing Michael Giacchino’s original score for Star Trek: Into Darkness, as the film screens behind them at Embarcadero Marina Park South. Over at Symphony Hall, the Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses presents all-new arrangements of franchise music courtesy of Nintendo composer Koji Kondo. DJs will be spinning at Sexy Saviors and Villainous Villains, a costume party at McFadden’s on Fifth featuring a guest appearance by cosplay kingpin Lonstermash.

Multi-day events include the Petco Park Interactive Zone, this year featuring the MTV Fandom Fest and Fandom Awards on Thursday. The Observatory North Parks hosts the Burger Records Comic-Con Party, running Friday through Sunday.

Conan O’Brien is taping his show at the Spreckels Theatre Wednesday through Saturday. Speculation is rife that Kiss may perform, given all four members will appear at Thursday’s debut Comic-Con screening of Scooby-Doo! and Kiss: Rock and Roll Mystery.
