An argument over a wet cat turned into a brawl that ended with the arrest of four people in Tijuana last week.
Neighbors called police to Colonia Villas de Alcázar at around 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, when a fight in front of a home on Calle Esperanza seemed to be getting out of hand, according to El Mexicano, a Baja California daily.
Officers said two men and two women suffered scratches and bruises in the fray, which started when one of the women saw the other squirting her cat with a water hose.
Paola Isabel Correa Paredes, 37, told officers that her neighbor, María del Carmen Carrillo Carrillo, 48, hosed down her cat. When Paola began to berate Maria over the incident, Maria's son, Milton Yael Hernández Carrillo, 21, intervened on behalf of his mom, which prompted the two women to begin trading blows.
Francisco Antonio Urbina Hernández, 41, tried to separate the two women, but that angered Milton, who began to fight with Francisco.
Alarmed neighbors then called police using the 066 emergency number (like calling 911 in the US.). Officers from the Los Pinos precinct arrested all four and took them before a municipal judge, who ordered them turned over to state prosecutors.
