Nonstop wahoo action

From Excel Sportfishing

The Bluefin are still biting out at the Tanner/Cortes Banks. The Tribute, fishing out there right now, has added two more 1.5-day trips departing on Wednesdays. Otherwise, they will be fishing south to Colonet on the weekends. Either destination is a good bet.

On Monday, the Excel stopped at Alijos Rocks on their way south for a day to let the weather settle at the Hurricane Bank and found nonstop Wahoo action. They left them biting after boating 130 of the toothy critters and are now doing well on the Yellowfin Tuna at the bank, with a few cows over 200 pounds already in the hold.

The Red Rooster III returned from their 15 day trip to the Hurricane Bank area with 84 large Yellowfin Tuna to 201 pounds and 81 Wahoo to 70 pounds.

Only two local trips out yesterday, both by the New Seaforth and go figure, they found those deep Yellowtail. On their 1/2 Day AM run with 19 Anglers aboard, they sacked up 1 California Halibut, 32 California Yellowtail. 14 Anglers aboard their 1/2 Day PM run boated 25 California Yellowtail.
