I feel Blazing Saddles is a timeless, purely American comedy, the likes of which will never be repeated. Successfully, at least.
I feel it does the best job of ripping open the guts of a core issue in our society and poking it with a very funny, sharp stick.
As a veteran submariner, I feel Das Boot: Director’s Cut is far and away the quintessential submarine movie. The technical aspects of it are accurate, and the feeling of what it’s really like to be in a submarine are very poignantly portrayed and conveyed. Three and a half hours and worth every minute of it.
