So, that's fishing. One week the fish are practically jumping into the boat, the next you're wondering where they went. Kinda like that for the Pacific Queen and the Aztec on their 1.5 Day trips out to Cortez Bank. They took out 46 passengers between the two boats and managed only 2 Yellowtail and 6 Bluefin Tuna.
Meanwhile, on the home front, the 1/2 boats did well:
The Premier 1/2 Day AM run carried 17 Anglers out to the kelp edge and reported 3 Lingcod and 162 Rockfish caught.
46 Anglers aboard the New Seaforth 1/2 Day AM run landed 16 Yellowtail
The New Seaforth 1/2 Day PM did a little better, with 36 Anglers boating 94 Yellowtail
There still solid reports of Yellowtail and lingcod for the private boaters down the line from the Coronados to San Martin Island. The main challenge in getting out there is the wind and the bump rolling through.
The long range boats continue to find success in this winter wanderlust season. Here's the report from the Red Rooster III captain Andy Cates;
