San Diego will be the fourth best city in the nation for celebrating Valentine's Day February 14, says WalletHub, the outfit that keeps state, city, and metro area statistics.
San Diego will have the second best weather among 100 cities; Los Angeles, for some reason, will have the best. A puzzler: Chula Vista will have the 15th best weather. No puzzler: Cleveland and Buffalo are tied for the worst weather.
WalletHub statisticians looked at a number of metrics: average cost of Valentine's Day party ticket, restaurant meal, movie ticket, wine, and beauty salon, adjusted for median household income in each city; number of restaurants, cafés, attractions, nightlife options, jewelry stores, florists, chocolate shops, and specialty stores per capita — and, of course, the weather.
For overall score, San Francisco ranks first, Seattle second, and Orlando third. The three worst? North Las Vegas; Laredo, Texas, and Detroit.
