Trumpeter Gilbert Castellanos opens the night by presenting the Young Lions Series at Croce’s Park West (2760 Fifth Avenue) this week featuring John Avery. Castellanos plays the first set, starting at 7:00 p.m. $5 cover, then heads to the Jazz Jam at Seven Grand with Joshua White, Rob Thorsen and Ryan Shaw. 9:00 p.m. No cover, 21+ musicians bring your horns!

Juice Box featuring Ed Kornhauser, Louis Valenzuela, Omar Lopez, and Matt Smith, are having a record-release celebration at Seven Grand, 9:30 p.m. free … Gilbert Castellanos is fronting a trio with Bobby Cressey and Charlie Chavez at Ortega’s Bistro (141 University) 7:00 p.m., no cover … Moonlight Serenade Orchestra are doing that dining and dancing thing at Tango Del Rey (3567 Del Rey Street) at 9:30 p.m. $10 a head … Gypsy Groove Hot Jazz Band with Bianca Lara, Jeffrey P.
