I was intrigued by the title Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (USA, 2004), although Jim Carrey isn’t one of my favorite actors. I’m currently still in love with this film, which is part sci-fi and a quirky love story about two extraordinary people who can’t bear living with the memories of one another. A new process allows them to remove their shared memories. What a concept! Think so? As with all things in life, you can’t ignore the possibility of human error!
What could Tim Burton bring to Alice in Wonderland (USA, 2010) that hasn’t been done before? Well, Johnny Depp, for one! Add the star power of Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter, mix in Burtonesque special effects, and a sensational world of color and whimsy comes roaring to life! I’ve immersed myself in this superb piece of art so many times I could narrate it. It’s irresistible for children and adults alike.
