Marqay’s debut psych-pop full-length Double Carousel drops November 6 at the Soda Bar. “The album will be released in CD and digital formats, but we’re all saving our pennies in the hope of pressing it to vinyl in the near future,” says Chris Plaia. Recorded between fall 2012 and spring 2014 at Earthling Studios by Mike Kamoo, “The album cover is a photo I took of my girlfriend floating off a beach in Thailand, and its title is a reference to a part in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, when Hunter S. Thompson and Oscar are trying to lose their way through the Circus Circus casino, high on ether.”
