This morning, November 4, a little after 7:00, firefighters, San Diego police, and SDG&E crews responded to a gas leak on the southwest corner of Abbott Street and Satatoga Avenue.
Between 30 and 50 workers were evacuated from the condominium complex being built on the corner. Half of the beach parking lot at the foot of Santa Monica Avenue was cordoned off and vehicle owners were not allowed to access. The smell of gas was strong southward on Abbott Street and westward along the beach.
SDG&E crews shut off the leak and work resumed at about 8:40.
