Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at Dizzy’s (4275 Mission Bay Drive) with Celtic Groove featuring Wanda Law on Irish fiddle, Beth Ross-Buckley on flute, Fred Benedetti on guitar, Jon Szanto on percussion and Jeff Pekarek on bass/vocals. 8 p.m. $20

Wednesday 19
Drummer Ryan Shaw leads this week’s edition of the Young Lions Series at Croce’s Park West, (2760 Fifth Avenue). Appearing with Shaw is pianist Kiefer Shackelford with bassist TBA. 7 p.m. $5 cover. The Latin Jazz Jam Session happens at Seven Grand Whiskey Bar (3054 University Avenue) with Castellanos, Mike Holguin, Rob Thorsen, Irving Flores and Charlie Chavez. 9 p.m., no cover, musicians bring your horns!

Thursday 20
Trumpeter Gilbert Castellanos appears with the Park West Ensemble at Croce’s Park West, this week featuring LA pianist Matt Politano, bassist Rob Thorsen, and drummer Duncan Moore. Downbeat at 7 p.m. $5 cover.

Friday 21
Gilbert Castellanos hits the Westgate Hotel (1055 Second Avenue) with pianist Joshua White and bassist Rob Thorsen at 8 p.m. No cover charge, but there is a $20 food/drink minimum. Get there early because this small room fills up fast. The Zinchiladas perform at D’Lish Bistro (386 E. H Street, Chula Vista) featuring Alex Lopez, Barry Jaquess, Melanie Jaquess, Alberto Diaz and John Cunningham. 6:30-8:30 p.m. no cover. Finally, trumpeter Curtis Taylor does Dizzy’s (4275 Mission Bay Drive) with vocalist Amanda Portela, pianist Jason Shattil, bassist Antar Martin and drummer Richard Sellers. 8 p.m. $15

Saturday 22
“A Tribute to the Legends of Jazz,” including Gilbert Castellanos on trumpet, Mundell Lowe on guitar, Charles McPherson on alto saxophone, Daniel Jackson on tenor sax and piano, Marshall Hawkins on bass, Jack Costanzo on bongos and congas, and Carlos Vazquez on drums play 98 Bottles (2400 Kettner Boulevard) Two shows: 7:00 p.m., and 9:00 p.m. Tickets $20 online, $25 at the door. Gypsy Groove do an early gig at Nate’s Garden Grill (3120 Euclid, City Heights) from 2:00-4:00 p.m. featuring Bianca Lara. Free!

Sunday 23
Dizzy’s hosts a tribute to the 1961 Dexter Gordon/Freddie Hubbard album, “Doin’ Alright” with a band led by trumpeter John Reynolds, featuring Ian Tordella on saxophone, Melonie Grinnell on piano, Doug Walker on bass, and Kevin Higuchi on drums. 8 p.m., $15
