According to a resident of the fourplex community off South El Camino Real, behind the Target store, the whole neighborhood woke up to the sound of crashing cars around 1:00 a.m. on January 16.
A driver, described as an older white woman, plowed her brand-new, 2014 Ford Focus into two parked cars on the eastbound two lanes of Via Las Rosas at Via Sonora. Her car was totally damaged and undriveable. She was arrested for DUI by Oceanside police officers.
Dominick, whose 2007 Nissan was the second car sideswiped, said everyone heard the crash and came running out. Parked behind his car was a black Mercedes belonging to a neighbor that lives halfway up Via Sonora; the neighbor apparently could not find a place to park near his home that night.
Both cars had flat tires, front and rear door damage, and the light lenses were also broken.
