San Diego Fire-Rescue responded to a report of heavy smoke seen rising from a Pacific Beach alley on Sunday night, January 12, at 6:25 p.m.
The crew arrived at the 4700 block of Mission Boulevard to find a dumpster fire endangering two residential structures. They immediately aimed the hose at the receptacle and began drenching it with water.
After lifting the lid, the fire crew discovered the fire source was a Christmas tree burning amid other trash. The fire was out within minutes.
There were no injuries reported and only minor smoke damage to a wall. The cause of the fire is unknown.
