Police in El Cajon are asking for assistance in identifying a man they believe to be tied to at least two fast-food robberies in recent days.
On Monday, December 30, a suspect described in a release from Lt. Frank La Haye as "a possible Black or Asian male adult in his early twenties, 5'8" and approximately 150 pounds," robbed a Subway restaurant on the 200 block of West Main. After brandishing a handgun, he escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.
On New Year's Day, a suspect matching the description from the earlier robbery arrived at a Rally's restaurant and once again pulled out a gun and demanded money. The attempt was unsuccessful, as the suspect was forced to flee without any cash.
Authorities have released surveillance photos from the Subway robbery and are asking the public for help in identifying the suspect, who remains at large and is described by police as armed and dangerous. A $1000 reward is offered for information leading to arrest by calling 888-580-8477.
