The Cabrillo Chamber Orchestra is presenting the "An American Experience" concert next weekend. This showcase of American composers will begin at 8 pm on February the 15th at Crill Hall on the Point Loma Nazarene University campus.
The concert will feature American favorites such as Copland's Appalachian Spring and Barber's Adagio for Strings.
More details and tickets are available.
After the collapse of Orchestra Nova, the CCO, along with the Bach Collegium and Camera Lucida, is keeping local chamber music going in San Diego.
The CCO gave a "Mozart Magic" concert in October. Frank Almond guest conducted and performed at that show, playing his Lipinski Strad (which was just stolen from him —and then recovered by police — last week in Milwaukee).
This month's concert will feature guest conductor, Alyze Dreiling, who is artistic director and conductor of San Diego's Youth Philharmonic Orchestra. A few students from the virtuoso YPO Soloists Ensemble will be playing with the CCO in the concert.
