Open, open, open

A hit-list of planned opening dates for upcoming brewery projects.

Plans for the upcoming Rip Current tasting room in North Park.

I have nearly 50 upcoming breweries, brewpubs, tasting rooms, and other brewing company-owned facilities on my radar. Thanks to San Diego Beer News, people are well aware of this, which leads to me being asked about projected opening times for the majority of those businesses on a near daily basis. I don’t mind. Obviously, I enjoy being an informational resource on my favorite subject — San Diego craft beer. Unfortunately, I typically don’t have all that many answers for readers. If I do, it goes into an article. I am in the process of writing the 2014 edition of my guide to San Diego breweries and, through research for that project, I have been updated on the estimated time of arrival for several works-in-progress.

Abnormal Beer Company: The brewery component of Cork and Craft Restaurant, which comes in at 6,000 square feet, will bring flavor to the stark, industrial side of Rancho Bernardo beginning September 8. 16990 Via Tazon, Suite 124, Rancho Bernardo

Bagby Beer Company: The most buzz-worthy brewery project of the past two years will make the transition from highly anticipated question mark to, hopefully, a brewpub putting an exclamation point on flavor sometime in early September. 601 South Coast Highway, Oceanside

Twisted Manzanita Ales – Pacific Beach: This Santee-based brewery (and distillery, though its spirits won’t be available at its new digs) will open its coastal tasting room very soon. They are aiming for a grand opening on or around September 12. 4658 Mission Boulevard, Pacific Beach

Toolbox Brewing Company: It’ll take a little time for award-winning homebrewer Peter Perrecone to get his Brett beer program built up, but his first drafts should make their debuts to the public on September 25 at this DIY- and patriotism-themed North County brewery. 1495 Poinsettia Avenue, Suite 148, Vista

Coronado Brewing Company – Imperial Beach: The third venue for country’s reigning Champion Medium-sized Brewing Company, a restaurant with 16 taps and roughly 40 food items including ceviche, sandwiches and fish tacos, will open sometime in September. 875 Seacoast Drive, Imperial Beach

The Lost Abbey Confessional: It took over a year for Port Brewing Company/The Lost Abbey to get clearance from the City of Encinitas to build a tasting room in the Seaside Market strip mall, but with a late September ETA, things are now moving along swimmingly. 2007 San Elijo Avenue, Cardiff

O’Sullivan Bros. Brewing Company: A worldly variety of mostly sessionable beers that, like their brotherly creators, are linked in a familial manner care of Irish nomenclature, will be available from this inland brewery and tasting room by the end of September. 9879 Hibert Street, Suite F, Scripps Ranch

Kuracali Sake & Beer Brewery: The rice wine component of the operation won’t be up-and-running just yet, but Charles Perkins guarantees that beer will be flowing from his taps come late October. 175 Bosstick Boulevard, #104, San Marcos

Fall Brewing Company: Brewer Ray Astamendi has been waiting a long time to put his talents and lager-making skills to work for himself, and he’s almost there. Look for the Saint Archer and Mission Brewery alum’s personal passion project to open by the end of October. 4542 30th Street, North Park

Rip Current Brewing Company – North Park: The collaborative beer tasting room and eatery from San Marcos-based businesses Rip Current Brewing Company and Sublime Alehouse will add even more beer to 30th Street by the end of October. 4101 30th Street, North Park
