A Mexican national was arrested on Monday, April 7, after attempting to pose as a construction worker, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials.
At around 6:30 in the morning, a man arrived at the San Ysidro border crossing, which is in the midst of a major overhaul, wearing a hard hat, work boots, tool belt, and yellow safety vest. After entering the work area, he stopped for a cup of coffee and drew the attention of officials.
Upon questioning, it was determined that the worker did not have the proper credentials to be on site, and was hoping to pass unnoticed into the United States. He was instead arrested and now faces deportation.
