I always forget how hot San Diego Septembers are. When I am looking forward to the fall and pulling my boots and tights out of storage, I find it nearly impossible not to get cranky over the heat. My lack of home air conditioning does not help matters. Here’s what a couple of SD ladies wore to beat the heat.
Cristin Hunt kept it preppy and casual. The 24-year-old Nordstrom employee opted for pricey accessories paired with affordable wardrobe pieces. Hunt’s flirty floral dress is from Target, $24.99 and her shoes are Payless. She splurged on her oversized Michael Kors tote, $358, and her Marc by Marc Jacobs shades, $110.
When asked what her least favorite current trend is, Hunt let out a little sigh and said, "There are a lot of annoying [fashion choices] going on right now. I don't like crop-tops. They don't look good on anyone, even if you're fit."
Hailey Ketter kept cool in a bohemian-inspired ensemble. The 20-year-old Point Loma Nazarene student wore a fringed Mink Pink crop-top purchased at a sample sale. She paired them with a pair of printed Urban Outfitters shorts. Her accessories are from Van De Wort, a new boutique in Del Mar. When asked what her least favorite trend is, Ketter shrugged and instead told me what her favorite wardrobe item is.
“I love kimonos. They go over everything.”
