Beer & Cheese Pairing: Equal opportunity artisan Peter Zien, the brewmaster at AleSmith who is also working on opening his own dairy project called CheeseSmith, will drop in to Encinitas Ale House to pair some of his award-winning beers with some of his fave fromage. | Encinitas Ale House, 1044 South Coast Highway, Encinitas, 4 p.m.
Kern River Causes a Rip Current: Two cult-favorite breweries will be showcased when O’Brien’s Pub welcomes in San Marcos start-up Rip Current Brewing to share its wares while helping finish up reserve kegs from a Kern River Brewing Company beer dinner. | O’Brien’s Pub, 4646 Convoy Street, Kearny Mesa, 5 p.m.
Freak Show: Little Freak and Super Freak are wild brews from Green Flash Brewing Company with a cult following.
