The International Space Station will overfly San Diego this evening, October 8, at 6:59 p.m.
The station will appear as bright as Venus. It is approximately 220 miles above the Earth and traveling at 17,500 miles per hour. The station will be visible, if your sky is clear, throughout San Diego County.
It will enter our area from the southwest (think Coronado Islands or downtown) and be almost halfway to straight up, at 64 degrees above the horizon.
It will be visible for a full six minutes and leave our area to the northeast (think Ramona or Julian).
