Jeffrey Tambor: Performing Your Life

Call it one-man show, seminar, or question-and-answer session, Jeffrey Tambor is bringing all three of them to a synagogue near you.

The name might not have clicked, but now that you've had a chance to see his picture it's certain that one if not many of the characters Jeffrey Tambor has entertained audiences with over the years instantly came to mind.

The 40-year acting veteran's list of credits on IMDB is a never-ending down-arrow scroll. Contemporary audiences recognize Tambor as George Bluth, Sr. in Arrested Development or as Bradley Cooper's once and future father-in-law in The Hangover(s). Those of us old enough to remember TV tubes will place the actor as the Roper's haughty next door neighbor or running wild as Max Frewer's frazzled producer on The Max Headroom Show.

"Hey, now!" One man. Two words. One sentence. It was Howard Stern who first helped turn the catchphrase created for Hank Kingsley (a character from one of television's most perfect creations, The Larry Sanders Show) into a venerable sound drop-in that's right up there with his trusty "Baba Booey." Stern made an appearance on the Sanders show, but has Mr. Tambor ever appeared on the Stern show?

Lucky me will have a chance to ask Jeffrey Tambor about Hank, a tour of duty on The Love Boat, and most of all his upcoming appearance at San Diego's Second Annual Inspiring Minds Speaker Series.

Tambor's inspirational one-man show, Performing Your Life, will be presented at Congregation Beth Am, 5050 Del Mar Heights Road, for one night only on December 10.

Life's sweetest reward!

Over 1300 were in attendance at last year's inaugural Inspiring Minds event hosted by Gloria Steinem.

Place

Congregation Beth Am

5050 Del Mar Heights Road, San Diego

General admission is $60 with a discount rate of $25 for seniors over 65 and students. Want more with Tambor? $180 guarantees you access to a pre-event meet and greet wile $500 buys you a seat at the his dinner table. A portion of the proceeds for the series will go to Stand Up for Kids, a community center downtown that helps homeless teens.
