Little Italy Art Royalty
When I rolled into my parking space in Little Italy yesterday, I spotted this guy standing outside:
Alexandre Renoir
"I think you'll be surprised when you figure out who I am. You should Google me," he said.
I have to admit that nothing annoys me more than someone suggesting I Google them. It makes them sound a tad self-important. However, when he introduced himself as Alexandre Renoir, I understood why.
Turns out Pierre-Auguste Renoir, the famous French Impressionist artist, is Alexandre's great grandfather. Cool, huh?
French born and Canadian raised, Renoir, had an art studio in Little Italy.
He was kind enough to give me a tour of his studio. It was filled with brightly colored oil paintings and lithographs.
Dove Braunstein
Nearby, I found Dove Braunstein. Braunstein mixed and matched patterns effortlessly. She wore an Anne Taylor Loft shirt and adorable Forever 21 sailor pants paired with rag & bone platforms.
The 39-year-old is a stay-at-home mom.
"My favorite wardrobe item is my magic dress. It's from Anthropologie. It's blue with white polka dots and has a natural waist. It's really flattering."
