Temporary fencing went up on the morning of Wednesday, Febuary 27, in a section of the parking lot along the 3200 block of Sports Arena Boulevard, between the Union Bank and Petco in the Midway District.
According to one of the workers who was preparing the chain-link fencing, the area is being blocked off to prepare three retail spaces that will house a bank and two new restaurants.
Across the street, in the Valley View Casino Center parking lot, the former Sports Arena has had success in making room on the outskirts of their venue for a Chick-fil-A restaurant, Arco gas station, and a Chili's restaurant.
When I asked the fencing crew what new businesses were slated to go in, one man replied that "he did not even know."
