U-Haul drama occurred on October 13 at around 10:00 a.m. as an Arizona-license-plated moving van got stuck in the street near the 4400 block of Mentone Street in the Midway District.
The steeply inclined dip has been the bane of many a large delivery truck and even the San Diego Blood Mobile. Not a week goes by that neighbors do not shake their heads at yet another oversized vehicle that has gotten their back ends jammed on the street where it meets West Point Loma Boulevard. This time it was an Arizona couple who were bringing the boards out to try and get the U-Haul moving again.
Eventually, a tow-truck driver was called and the heavy van was hauled out of the dip and set free.
