A man and his dog were enjoying the day at Dog Beach November 13 when the man fell to the ground and began having a seizure, according to the Hubble family who witnessed the incident.
At first, Sherie Hubble thought the man had merely fallen and might have been embarrassed; then she noticed his dog jumping up and down around him and saw him shaking.
Simon Hubble noticed that the man was at the very beginning of a grand mal seizure related to epilepsy; he, too, is epileptic. They dialed 911 and first responders were quick to the scene.
The Hubbles’ son, also named Simon, took care of the man’s dog while he was being attended to by emergency personnel. The victim, who is from the Talmadge area, agreed to let the Hubbles take care of his dog until he was released from medical care.
