The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s office has determined that one of two elderly individuals found dead in a Santa Ysabel residence on the 25200 block of Mesa Grande Road on Monday is the victim of a homicide, the San Diego Sheriff’s Department is reporting.
An unidentified woman was killed by a single gunshot wound to the head, deputies have said, while a man also discovered deceased in the residence is said to have died of natural causes. A firearm was recovered by the Sheriff’s Department at the scene.
Names of the individuals involved are being withheld pending notification of next of kin. At this point an investigation is still underway, but detectives do not believe there are any suspects outstanding.
