The remodel on the Target store located on Sports Arena Boulevard in Point Loma is close to completion. The last few months have been frustrating for some shoppers, as the store and surrounding parking lots were changed significantly.
The store now offers fresh produce, a larger selection of grocery products and frozen-food items, and a Starbucks coffee lounge located inside. Eye exams, contact lenses, and eyeglasses or prescription sunglasses are also new to the store.
The reconstructed/redesigned parking lot was built with marked sidewalks to keep shoppers out of traffic while traveling to and from the store entrance.
While the Target facelift is almost finished, a construction project on the adjoined store space (a former Mervin’s) will continue through the summer: a Ralphs grocery store will move in, vacating their current space in the next building down. Contractor Mike C. said that move will start later this year, around November.
