The Adams Avenue Farmers' Market, located on the playground of John Adams Elementary School in Normal Heights since May 2010, closed May 11, 2011.
Unfortunately, there was not enough foot traffic to maintain the initial enthusiasm for the market. There also appeared to be a lack of support from the communities in this area of Mid-City: Normal Heights, Kensington, and University Heights.
This Stringer will miss the fresh baby spinach, broccoli, and carrots, in addition to avocados from Fallbrook, and Fuji and Granny Smith apples.
