Shortly after 12:30 p.m. on January 17, a blaze broke out at a residence located in the 16000 block of Avenida Suavidad. The fire appeared to have started in a bedroom used as an office.
Crews immediately responded and were able to knock down the blaze before the residence was destroyed. They stayed on the scene a little longer than usual to ensure that embers didn’t restart the fire.
No injuries were sustained, but a woman was hit by an air-conditioning service truck as she ran into the street to view the blaze. Her injuries were minor.
Damage to the structure was estimated at $225,000.
