Citizens Against Dumanis Take to Facebook

The NOT DUMANIS Facebook page recently sent D.A. Bonnie Dumanis an open appeal to consider dropping out of the mayor's race. The group, of which I am a member, suggested that Dumanis should graciously step aside now to save some political face.

NOT DUMANIS has relentlessly protested the D.A. — both online and at her campaign kick-off at the Electra building in late June, where a few picketers used a bullhorn and some signs to embarrass Bonnie in front of her powerful friends and wealthy sponsors.

In addition, even the LGBT newspapers are not shrinking from calling Bonnie "unlikable," and another online blog insinuated that the D.A. "lacks charm." Bonnie is in an unpromising third place for campaign funds raised-behind Carl DeMaio and Nathan Fletcher.

To add to the potential for disaster, the Nunez commutation hearing will now take place in Sacramento instead of San Diego — which may bode ill will for the prospect of Bonnie winning in court. There is also the issue of a big judgment coming down against the D.A.'s office for it's mishandling of the Cynthia Sommers case. The Marine widow has filed a $20 million dollar lawsuit alleging civil rights violations and Bonnie's D.A. office is named, along with the Feds and NCIS agents.

Terrie Best of NOT DUMANIS said that because Mayoral candidate Bonnie Dumanis has "used sick and dying medical marijuana patients (and others) as low-hanging fruit to pad her conviction rate," this is proof "she is not compassionate enough to be Mayor." Further, Terrie Best also alluded that "based on this culture of corruption around Bonnie Dumanis, the D.A. should drop out of the Mayor's race now."

The open appeal from NOT DUMANIS was also sent as a link on Twitter to @BonnieDumanis. The group also admonished Dumanis to "DROP OUT OF THE RACE! The NOT DUMANIS crew is ready to hound you till kingdom comes or, more fittingly in your case — till Hell freezes over!"
