A suspect has been arrested in connection with three bank robberies that occurred during the past several months in San Diego County.
According to a report obtained from the local FBI office, 34-year-old Alberto Alatorre of Imperial Beach was arrested on February 10 on Oro Vista Drive by FBI agents and San Diego County Sheriff’s Department personnel.
Alatorre was arrested in connection with the robberies of the North Island Federal Credit Union in Imperial Beach, which was robbed on November 6, 2009, and again on December 2. Alatorre is also charged with the Wells Fargo Bank holdup in Chula Vista last week, on February 5.
Alatorre is alleged to have displayed a black semiautomatic handgun during two of the robberies. He is being held in the San Diego County Jail until his arraignment, which is scheduled for Tuesday, February 16.
