Two young women riding a new Kawasaki motorcycle and a woman driving a Toyota Camry were involved in a traffic accident in the 1300 block of 13th Street on Thursday evening, September 24.
The Camry was pulling out of the Majestic Apartments parking lot and turning north on 13th Street. The driver told bystanders she looked to her left and saw only a truck at the corner turning east and continued with her turn when she collided with the motorcycle, also traveling north.
The two females on the Kawasaki were thrown to the ground but picked themselves up and sat down on the curb. They asked witnesses to call 911. The teenage brother of one of the bikers arrived on the scene and needed to be stopped by a sheriff’s deputy from confronting the car’s driver.
The motorcyclists were treated at the scene by paramedics and transported to the hospital. The driver of the Camry appeared unhurt and deputies allowed her to move her vehicle back into the parking lot, dragging the front bumper all the way.
