After years of being closed to cars, Presidio Park's Inspiration Point access road began getting necessary repairs back in the spring. Work is projected to finish up this October. The road's two new retaining walls will make it safe for car travel by the general public.
The cost is $1.2 million; FEMA is picking up the tab. Previous heavy storm damage to the access road and the hill on which it lies qualified it for FEMA funds. The damage had caused the hill to be a hazard to both cars using the road as well as to traffic on Taylor Street below.
