A 28-year-old male died by suicide early Wednesday morning, September 2, after hanging himself. At 1:10 a.m., San Diego Police responded to a residence on Florida Street between University and Lincoln avenues after a woman called 911 and told police she spoke with her friend who said he was going to hang himself.
When police arrived, they found the male unconscious and not breathing. Police called for paramedics. According to a police report, medics performed CPR for 20 minutes before they transported the patient to a local hospital.
At 2:34 a.m., the man was pronounced dead. San Diego Police remained at the scene until 5:27 a.m. while they worked on their investigation. No other information has been released.
