At approximately 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, a black compact car plowed through a hedge divider of the Vons shopping center parking lot on Arriba Street. The driver may have stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake.
Fortunately, no one was injured, though many pedestrians use the adjacent sidewalk as well as a nearby mailbox. The driver, along with his passenger, seemed to be UCSD students. The driver was distraught over the incident as a tow truck hauled his car away. However, the car only had minor damages...the same cannot be said for the bush.
