At approximately 12:30 p.m. on April 21, a middle-aged woman fell down a cliff above the beach at the end of Santa Cruz Avenue. An ambulance was called, and within minutes police cars, fire engines, and lifeguard vehicles were on the scene. From the fenced end of the street, the woman tumbled 30 feet, onto a concrete path directly above the beach. While her injuries appeared to be non-fatal, she was uncooperative with emergency personnel.
“She’s got alcohol and whatever other kind of drug in her system,” said a police officer on the scene. Paramedics eventually got the woman strapped onto a stretcher and up the stairs to an awaiting ambulance.
