On Wednesday, April 22, at around 3:00 p.m., three would-be burglars attempted a residential robbery on Pasadena Drive in the Mt. Nebo neighborhood of La Mesa. According to the homeowner's son, Dave, two males and one woman of Hispanic descent who had stolen a pickup truck in Chula Vista attempted to rob his elderly mother's home. Fortunately, his mother was not home at the time.
The trio parked the pickup in the driveway of the home, walked around the back, and smashed out a window to gain entry. A neighbor noticed the hooligans breaking the window from her yard and called the police.
Dave relates that La Mesa police were there within minutes, surprising all three burglars while they were still in the home. They were immediately arrested. The home was in disarray (presumably trashed while they searched for valuables), and many items had been removed. Everything taken seemed to have been recovered.
According to La Mesa police, the three individuals are in custody with specific charges pending.
