The phone rang yesterday evening. It was David Skillman, chairman of the MAD oversight — er, advisory, um, oversory? — committee for greater Golden Hill. Skillman called to say he is to blame for not thoroughly notifying the public about the change in last week's scheduled meeting. He assumed most people would have known to go to MAD’s new website, where the changes to the schedule were posted. The website, ghcgs.org, was adopted at last month’s meeting as the committee’s official home page.
Skillman said there were emails back and forth between board members who considered posting a notice at the Balboa Park clubhouse; however, they didn’t think it was necessary.
He went on to ask that people refer to the website for information regarding upcoming meetings and, in addition to contacting project manager Alia Kanani directly, to also use the email address provided to report any issues regarding the community. He said Kanani is typically easy to reach but has recently been busy attending training programs with the city.
For a closer look at the MAD committee, attend the meetings at the Balboa Park Clubhouse on the third Monday of every month. Don’t forget to check the website first, just in case it's rescheduled!
