"Static-X has parted ways with guitarist Tripp Eisen, effective immediately," states a February 28 press release from the heavy-metal band.
The last time the band played San Diego was September 1, 2004, headlining at Soma.
Not mentioned in the release is the fact that Eisen, 39, was arrested in Orange County on February 24 for allegedly meeting and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in New Jersey on January 7. Earlier in February, the Orange County Sheriff's Department arrested him when he was discovered in a parked car with a different 14-year-old female. For that, he was released on $100,000 bail and is awaiting trial.
"Tripp is currently dealing with personal issues that prohibit him from being able to fulfill his commitment to the band," the press release continues. "No replacement has yet been chosen."
Static-X is finishing its fourth Warner Bros. album, scheduled to be in stores in May.
