"If moshing begins, the concert ends right there," says Aliah Lieras, recreation program supervisor with the City of Santee.
"If the bands aren't supportive of the rule, they won't be asked back. Our staff tech will pull the plug right there. This happened two years ago." Lieras declined to give the name of the band.
On the last Friday of the month for the next ten months, the Santee Teen Center will host three local bands. This year's series kicks off February 25.
"We only allow those between 13 and 17.... If they are over 18, they have to be fingerprinted." Parents are also welcome but must stand in a roped-off area.
Lieras said local teen bands are welcome to submit a demo for future shows (619-258-4100 extension 120).
Numskul, Solipsis, and Took the Fall appear 6--10 p.m., February 25, at the Santee Teen Center, 9470 Cuyamaca Street in Santee; must be 13--17 or a parent of an attendee. Admission is $3 for teen center members, $5 for nonmembers. Only 135 will be admitted.
