Moonlight on the Sea/ Club 13
640 Civic Center Drive, National City
619-477-2851
They say Club 13 is the second-oldest bar in town. The building dates from 1934. It's been Club 13 since 1943. Hell's Angels used to rumble in here on their way to Northern California, stopping at all the oldest bars in the state. Ten years ago, Linda bought it and named it Moonlight on the Sea, so the sailors and the shipyard workers would know it's for them. The place is a classic survivor from wartime San Diego. Linda serves up lumpia and burgers and hot wings, and steaks on the weekend. And she'll turn the karaoke on any time you want to take a shot at "My Way."
