In January 2002, San Diego Cares and the Volunteer Center of San Diego County merged to become Volunteer San Diego. Their entire purpose is to bring willing citizens and nonprofit organizations together to create something better and more powerful than either of them could do on their own. After attending a short orientation, you can lend a hand, voice, or a few hours to your choice of over 40 volunteer opportunities every month. From reading to kids to planting trees, you can choose a one-time service-learning experience or make volunteering part of your regular routine.
