Corner of Beech and India Streets, Little Italy
Until this fountain was built, the only outdoor seating on India Street was at the cafés. Now, passersby can sit on the two-foot rim of this fountain or on one of two metal benches which face it. The latter choice offers a view of the hand-painted Italian provincial tiles that cover the base of the fountain. On four pedestals set in the rim, copper fish arch toward the center of the fountain. A dozen small copper tubes shoot low arches of water from the edge of the 10-foot-diameter basin toward the center where a fatter jet gurgles water straight up a foot or two.
