Since a 24-year-old Canadian evangelist visited Vista Christian Fellowship in June 2002, the church claims to have documented dozens of miraculous healings. Lung cancer. Irritable bowel syndrome. Myopia. Arthritis. Liver failure. Even more curious, according to senior pastor Roger Friend, these healings coincided with a "new direction" the church was taking. "Vista is now 45 percent Hispanic," Reverend Friend explains. "We couldn't ignore that. We decided to reach out to the Spanish-speaking community. Our church members are even learning to speak Spanish. As far as the healings go, and our church's new direction, I don't think we could have had one without the other."
