Humans and their near relatives have big show-offy navels good for laughing at and starting rude conversations and making fashion statements. Dogs are born faster, and their navels are smaller. When they heal, the dog ends up with a nearly invisible little scar. So, flip Phydo over on his back, lie down next to him, find your own navel, then reach over, and Phydo's should be in about the same location.
