Where does Sea World get the water for their sea animals?
-- Adrienne, the Net
Personally, I was happier not knowing. Believe it or not, those sparkly pools are filled with water from-- yecch-- Mission Bay. Needless to say, the water gets a little attention before it's turned loose on the wildlife. According to a spokesorca for Shamuville, water is pumped out of the bay and sent through lots of filters and scrubbers, then treated to match the salinity and temperature appropriate for whatever's going to live in it. When it's time to replace the pool water, the old stuff is scrubbed again and flushed back into the bay. Good luck, Shamu.
