The Museum of Photographic Arts, the Gallery Store, and the Reader would like to thank San Diego County photographers who submitted entries to this year’s contest. A total of 553 images was received from 287 individuals All entries were judged by Patrick Nagatani, photographer and assistant professor of art at the University of New Mexico, who selected forty-one for exhibition. Twenty-four of these are color images, and seventeen are black and white. The nine prize-winning photographs are presented in this issue of the Reader. The complete exhibition may be seen at the Gallery Store, 724 Broadway, downtown San Diego, from Monday, October 26, through November 14. In December and January, the exhibition will travel to Southwestern and Grossmont colleges.
