Someone's a lottery winner in Tulaigh Mhór, a/k/a Tully More, population fifty-two. The problem is, he died of excitement with his signed ticket in his hand: no reason the winnings, a shade under seven million, shouldn't be split fifty-one ways among his neighbors, if one of them can successfully pass himself off as the deceased. The pre-credits joke is nicely turned, but then comes the slathered-on Irish charm, the caked-on local color, the piled-on quaintness. The ancient and emaciated David Kelly indeed has charm to spare, and need not have stooped to riding around starkers on a motorbike. With Ian Bannen, Fionnula Flanagan, Susan Lynch, James Nesbitt; written and directed by Kirk Jones. (1998) — Duncan Shepherd
