Sanaa Lathan is forced to enlist the services of ex-boyfriend Morris Chestnut when current beau — dreamy blue-eyed soul brother Michael Ealy — begins to exhibit unexpected signs of psychotic behavior. Cat lovers and Remington (firearms, not electric shavers) shareholders are the only ones likely to find redemption in this fatally conventional ”don’t get mad, get even” do-over of at least a dozen Fatal Attraction-ish ripoffs that came before. Lathan makes a much better victim than Ealy does stalker, the latter never venturing far beyond open-mouthed stares and smoky circles thumb-smudged beneath lower lids to make clear his all-consuming delirium. What’s the big takeaway? When all else fails, buy a gun and turn into the same type of animal you’re out to eliminate. And what’s a thriller without thrills? Much of the above would have been gladly overlooked had director David M. Rosenthal (A Single Shot) thrown a few pins and needles in our path. (2015) — Scott Marks
