A bad-girl potboiler from Buñuel, not the logical next step after the esteemed Los Olividados, with an ending so happy you have to laugh. It would not be altogether redundant to say that this ending is not serious. And there is plenty else before then to alert the avid Buñuelian: a reformatory escape in apparent answer to prayer, a supersitious maid, a flirtatious maid, alleged child molestation, witnessed sexual harassment, a couple of rats, a spider, an impaled wasp, muddy thighs, eggy thighs -- and that's just in the first twenty minutes.
